Coaxing earth and water into shapes, forms and structures takes knowledge and skill to meet
the demands of modern builders and we do it every day. " I am the luckiest guy in the world.
It's every kid's dream. I get to play with all different colors of mud every day."

- Eric Cockrell, Owner and Principle Artisan

M U D W E R K was founded by Eric Cockrell a fine artist with a MFA from Pratt Institute, in 2005 after years of working in the field nationally and internationally. We are a small, very specialized construction company and mud, the most essential of all building materials is our medium. From traditional ornamental plaster to cutting edge concrete countertops, we use one of the most basic materials to create both timeless works of art and living environments.

Plaster and concrete are among the most traditional building materials. The simple ingredients are inherently "green" and we use our knowledge and skill to polish, pattern and texture surfaces with these modest, honest materials in new and creative ways. Sensuous colors and decorative treatments entice one to touch and experience each unique surface.

From old world elegance to modern sophistication we provide artistic freedom of design and architectural versatility. Working with Architects, Designers and Homeowners we create custom installations in concrete and plaster. While countertops, sinks and walls are some of the most common applications, the possibilities are endless. We encourage exploratory design and are eager to collaborate to translate your vision into a one-of-a-kind signature piece.
For interior or exterior use M U D W E R K's exclusive formuals and installation techniques combined with years of experience allow for an unlimited range of applications and effects. Textures, colors, shapes and forms are limitless and our reputation for treating each project as a unique and individual work of art is growing.

" . . . a hip urban look that can be customized for any application you desire . . .
concrete used to be favored mainly by businesses wanting an industrial look but now
as homeowners tire of granite and tile they want more options when it comes to
shape, color and pattern, they're turning to concrete and plaster."
